The art of accomplishment by Joe Hudson and Brett Kistler
This is for sure one of my favourite podcasts if not my favourite of all podcasts! I’m a hugeeee fan of Joe Hudson, I first discovered him through twitter, but the rapidly start understanding that he was everywhere and he started this awesome project called “the art of accomplishment” where he’s the CEO and they do lots of workshops and retreats. He’s a very high realized person in the spiritual aspect I believe, very attuned and extremely interested person to listen to. My favourite episode of “the art of accomplishment” is probably this one. He also has an amazing YouTube channel where he also features coaching sessions (he also does coaching for the Open AI team!)!
Dwarkesh Podcast
Dwarkesh Patel (the host) is by far the best podcasters around there. He does extremely researched interviews and features lots of obscured intellectuals in academia. I’ve learned a ton with this podcast, lately he’s been realising a new episode every week (which scares me due to the amount of preparation he does for every podcast e.g reading the books of every guest, etc). Dwarkesh makes a living from this podcast which is amazing to see how far he went after only 4 years I believe. The “dwarkesh podcast” must have by far the most deeply intelligent audience and I truly recommend it to anyone interested in becoming more knowledgeable hence smarter!
EvolutionFM
This is the only podcast on meditation that I hear, it’s hosted by Scoot Briston that is currently writing a book! This is an extremely high level podcasts for anyone interested in exploring meditation, spirituality and consciousness. Scoot is highly knowledgeable in those subjects and always delivers interviews with great thinkers and people who really have a lot of experience with these topics. If you’re interested in any of those topics and want to hear podcasts on it, all you need is this podcast, there are a ton of podcasts on these topics but none better than “Evolution FM”!
TokCast
TokCast is a podcast exploring the work of David Deutsch (and his books of course) and it’s hosted by the amazing Brett Hall. This podcast has been one of the biggest helps while reading “the beginning of infinity”, it’s not properly an easy book to read but Brett has lots of episodes (and more on his YouTube channel) on every single chapter and also offers new perspectives and gives fresh new examples to understand better the book! Brett is definitely one of the people around with better understanding of the work done by Deutsch, he’s really really intelligent and very dedicated in expanding the reach of Deutsch’s ideas and theory’s!
Making Sense
This is definitely one of my favourites podcasts, it’s also probably one of the most popular podcasts around. Sam Harris has been one of the most influential figures in my “intellectual journey”. Sam has opinions (and podcast episodes) from meditation and consciousness to religion and biology, he’s the greatest communicator that I’ve ever seen, such an ease with playing with words, I always learn a new work while listening to Sam Harris ahah! He’s a very thoughtful and prudent person, I believe that anything that comes out of his mouth is either true or good and the big majority of times is both!
Lives Well Lived
This is the most philosophical podcast that I hear ahah, it’s hosted by utilitarian’s philosophers Kasia de lazari radek and the timeless Peter Singer. Although I’m not at all utilitarian (I think there are several things wrong with this philosophy), I really enjoy hearing Peter Singer talking, he’s certainly one of the most known philosophers alive. This podcast is mainly around morality and they feature young intelligent people that will be the future (and many times also the present) of moral philosophy. There’s one episode in particular that I really enjoyed with Rutger Bregman (that since there, became a fan of this historian), check it here.
Arjun Khemani Podcast
To be honest I don’t really hear more this podcast but it’s still one of the most interesting podcasts specially because it’s very special host! Arjun Khemani is one of my inspirations, he has interests very much like me (capitalism, popperian epistemology, the work of Deutsch, economics) and it was an inspiration to start my own podcast! It still amazes me how this young fellow had the ability to just start this amazing project, and I’m not even talking about the podcast, I’m talking about his involvement with Naval Ravikant, David Deutsch, Brett Hall! He’s a fellow of many philosophical institutions (like the conjecture institute, the Jim O’Shaughnessy Institute) and has done an excellent job in following his curiosity and find his purpose I believe!
